My new pup

We got him home this Sunday. We always planned on this, but then we had concerns. This week I guess one thing led to another and we decided to go ahead and buy one. So imagine when I told dad that we are buying a pup tomorrow. He didn’t realise that we were serious about it until we started discussing the name.
So the parents made bro and me listen to The list before we went to bed on Saturday. It will be family - you can’t leave it alone and go out on trips - you need to treat it like a child - keep it clean - where will you keep him? - no entering the kitchen - and certainly not sleeping on anyone’s bed - walks and training is your responsibility - keep a name that’s easy to call - what breed is it?… ok!… what is the history? Does it bark a lot? How tall will he be? … ok… Remember… it’s a C O M M I T M E N T!!
“Oh my GOD” was the first thing I said when I saw him. I didn’t touch him. Looked at him resting in the doc’s arm and felt like I was now a mother of a smart looking dude! He is by far the cutest puppy I have ever seen. So after listening to the do’s and do not’s we left the clinic with a list of names. Hector, Troy, Oscar, Dude… I think even Archie, Jughead and Hotdog was suggested by a kid. My bro and I had picked up Dexter, Buddy and Avon.
So all he does is eat, sleep, does his stuff, and the cycle repeats. Night times he is pretty cranky. He wants to play, run around… and of course eat! Ya, we are all waiting for him to turn three months so that we can train him. He keeps his sleeping and eating area very neat, but has turned our living room into his bathroom. Oh boy, now I know what responsibility means.
The first time my angel barked was minutes after the above photo was taken. I took him to my room. Mom and I were discussing him. I was trying to take a pic. And this chap gets all excited because of ‘the’ reflection in the mirror. He would do the walk, pretend to sleep, lick the mirror, tried biting off the head of the ‘other’ dog, basically asking his own refection, “can you do it?’ Oh yes it could. And probably that irritated him. He got a bit offensive and barked. Loud enough to scare himself, and to get me on my feet. I was jumping literally thrilled with the fact that my dog could bark!! Lol. And no, he has not barked since!
He is so full of things, and this is such an experience!
Oh, and by the way, he is called Bruno! And two other friends told me their Lab’s are also called Bruno!! I just hope my Bruno won’t complain about how common his name is!!
Bow-wow-ow
